Knitting a pink scarf

Self-care: Knitting

The perfect self-care activity: Knitting

Hey, everyone! As you may know, I love talking about skincare and self-care on this blog. I’m always on the lookout for new ways to take care of my skin and my overall well-being, and I wanted to share one of my favorite weekend activities with you all: knitting!

Not only is knitting a fun and relaxing way to spend your free time, but it can also be a great way to practice self-care. When I sit down to knit, I feel like I’m giving myself permission to slow down and focus on something other than work or stress.

But how does knitting relate to skincare, you might ask? Well, when we’re stressed, our bodies release a hormone called cortisol, which can lead to inflammation and other skin issues. By taking the time to knit and de-stress, we’re helping to reduce our cortisol levels, which can ultimately lead to healthier, more beautiful skin.

Plus, knitting is a great way to make something for yourself or for others. Whether you’re making a cozy sweater or a warm scarf, you’re creating something that will make you or someone else feel good and cared for. I already own a whole collection of scarfs knitted by me in 100 different colours haha (I’m a little obsessed as you can see). In my defence you can find like a million different colours online these day, so it’s hard to resist alright.

Personally, I love knitting in the evenings while I catch up on my favorite TV shows or podcasts. It’s a great way to unwind after a busy day, and I always feel a sense of accomplishment when I finish a project.

So, the next time you’re looking for a weekend activity that’s both fun and beneficial for your skin, consider picking up some knitting needles. And don’t worry if you’re a beginner – there are plenty of online tutorials and resources available to help you get started.

And while you’re at it, don’t forget to indulge in some other self-care activities as well, such as a relaxing bubble bath, a face mask, or a good book. And if you’re looking for skincare products to complement your self-care routine, be sure to check out our webshop for a variety of options.

Happy knitting, and happy self-caring!
